Established in the year 2004, the Department offers two 4-year B.Tech. Mechanical
Engineering with an annual intake of 30 students.
The Staff
The Department has 10 members of faculty and 5 members of supporting staff. With
2 Professors, 4 Associate Professors and 4 Assistant Professors, the Department
is one of the well established Mechanical Engineering Departments in the state.

Distinctions
The students of the Department have consistently bagged Gold Medals and University
Ranks among the affiliate’s colleges and won several prizes in design and other
contests at various levels. The senior faculty in the Department has made a significant
contribution through guidance in research at the Master's and Doctoral levels. The
faculty of the Department have themselves been actively engaged in research publication
and dissemination of knowledge through extension lectures at various prestigious
institutions.

A central workshop with the facilities of Carpentry, House imparts necessary skills
to the student.
Industry-Institution Interaction
In addition to the interaction by way of students' visit to the industry, the department
has established linkages with various renowned organizations for faculty visits,
student training, student internship, and consultancy services. The organizations
include Mahindra & Mahindra, Castrol India, Rane Engine Valves, DRDL, Bharat Heavy
Electricals, Krittika Software, APSRTC, Central Institute of Tool Design and Midhani.
As part of the Industry-Institution Interaction, the Department has conducted industrial
visits for various reputed organizations like Rane Engine Valves, BHEL, and Government
Tool Room.
